Forthcoming Events

As pandemic conditions improve, the Center will begin to offer a combination of virtual, in-person and hybrid programs. ZOOM registrations links will be made available via the Center website. For more information, contact the Center at 828.262.2311 or holocaust@appstate.edu.
The Center will start its Fall events on:

Thurs., August 26, 7:30 pm EST. Virtual Center Research Colloquium with Dr. Noah Shenker, the N. Milgrom and 6a Foundation Senior Lecturer in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Monash University’s Australian Centre for Jewish Civilization, Melbourne. Focuses on Shenker’s illuminating work on Holocaust survivor testimony.

Thurs., Sept. 2, 7:00 pm EST. Lecture by Prof. Emerita Carolyn Ellis (University of South Florida) on “Being with Jerry: Compassionate Research with a Survivor of the Holocaust” on the ASU campus (location TBD). Prof. Ellis’s innovative work will also be featured in a Center Lunch Research Colloquium earlier during the day.
